His role at the Dallas Park and Recreation Department includes writing the department’s “Natural Resource Plan” and implementing it, overseeing the departments feral hog abatement program, reforestation in the parks, prairie management, pollinator conservation efforts, biological inventories, and conservation outreach efforts. He as also worked from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department specializing in urban coyote management, dealing with cattle egrets and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and feral hog education. Heather McNair is the Director of Communications for BikeDFW.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education, support, and promotion of the safe use of bicycles as an affordable and sustainable means of active transportation and personal enjoyment in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Community. Heather has a passion for this cause after watching her husband commute to work by bike for the last 12 years, and seeing both the joy and the challenges that he encounters in our community. With a belief that as interest in cycling in the area continues to grow and encompass more people in all walks of life, the culture of the communities we live in will change too, and she is excited to play some small part in promoting more, and safer cycling in the region as part of that shift.
